Chastain Park or otherwise known ‘Chastain Memorial Park’ is a popular and sought after neighborhood on the northern edge of Buckhead and upwards meeting lower Sandy Springs/Mt Paran/Northside. The lower area of the neighborhood borders Tuxedo Park.
The neighborhood’s popularity is based on many factors including the park itself in the middle of the neighborhood, featuring swim, tennis, a golf course (North Fulton Golf Course) with a three mile path around it for exercise, horse stables, The Horseradish Grill, varying parks and sports fields, Chastain Park Stable and the outdoor amphitheater (see below on more detail). Nancy Creek flows east to west through the middle of the park itself.
The outdoor amphitheater operates during the warmer months and draws crowds from all over Atlanta. While shows fall between April and October, the majority of shows are between May and early September. The capacity is approximately 6900, with the majority being reserved seating. In the area up front, you can set up in a specific area with tablecloths, candles, wine and food. Tables seat 6 and all 6 tickets must be purchased up front. Some shows are no tables/extras, but many are able and this creates a great atmosphere for time with friends and family. The two main promoters of the concerts are Live Nation and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
